We’ve been told by Sorin’s Job Coach that she is a very focused, dedicated and hard worker. She works Monday through Friday, 12:00-2:00pm, and has no problem working the whole time. Although, she’s exhausted when she gets home! She’s been straightening and organizing each department, one by one, the last two weeks.
Sorin’s job history so far: Her first paying job was in the High School laundry room for a year, then she volunteered at the Cordley Clothing Room (a place for disadvantaged families) one Summer, then she worked a whole school year in a nursing home delivering mail, and serving lunch, then last school year she worked at Hobby Lobby. TJ Maxx is her first “real job” because she’s being paid directly by TJ Maxx, not the High School or a State Grant. The job coach shadows her daily, and gradually fades back giving less and less supervision until she fades away completely. Eventually, Sorin will be working there on her own. A first. We’re very proud of her!
