About Us

We’re a lively, multi-racial, Midwestern family of seven living in a teeny house on the Kaw river in North Lawrence, Kansas. We practice Kriya yoga, and devoutly follow the spiritual teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. This blog chronicles our lives as parents, yogis, and aspiring homesteaders. Our favorite activities include long walks, hikes, dancing, gardening, reading, creating, writing, and meditating. Our two older children are homegrown and in the autism spectrum, and our youngest three were adopted from India, Guatemala and Ethiopia. In the Summer of 2010 we moved from a 2500 square foot suburban home, into an 900+ square foot house on a huge lot which has radically simplified our lives. Daniel works as an attorney, but is also a writer and energy therapist/Reiki Master. I stay home and enjoy writing, homesteading, gardening, creative projects, cheese nibbling, and dancing with the kids.
